Shoe accessories

I bought these cute flats a few weeks ago and they were on clearance and they were a great brand and were so comfortable. They had another version of this same brand that had these cute flower embellishments on them.  The shoes were pretty much the same minus the flowers, but the ones with the flowers were $50.00 more! The flats that I bought had this little straight embellishment so I  looked at how the flowers were made on the other pair and thought, why not make a flower to add to my shoe!
I had some black leather so I punched out some flowers and circles.

The middle petals were made with circles and folded like this.

I made 4 circles for each flower.

Put the flowers on the punched out flower and hot glued the 4 circles.

I then added a strip of leather to the back to attach the pin.

Here is a closer picture so you can see the strip of leather.

Here is the close up of the strip of leather that I was talking about.

I attached the flowers to the strip of leather with the pin. ( So I could remove it if I wanted too.)

Here is the finished shoe! I then had an idea of making another interchangeable embellishment.

I took another piece of leather.

Added a strip to the middle.

Then added a circle to the back. ( to hide the pin.)

Attached the pin to the back.

Voila! another pair of flats!

Now I can wear them in 3 different ways!

Man the veins on my feet stick out! Here is the flower.

and here is the bow! This was an easy peasy project and I am going to look at buying shoes in a whole different way now.
Have a great week!

That is soooo cute! I've been trying to come up with ways to doctor up my flats (which I have to wear a lot of for school observations). Flats aren't my fav, but this could help change that! :D Thanks so much.

Isn't it funny how ideas "resurface" in the design world. I can remember when it was "the thing" to have shoes with shoe clips that could be changed. You brought an old idea back to life, Donene, and very attractively, I might add!

Thanks for linking to the party.

Blessings,

Awesome! I love the ones with flowers the best. I think that you have convinced me to look at clearance shoes in a whole new light - not that I need more shoes! ;)

Thanks for sharing at Fantastic Friday, we will see you next week.

GREAT idea! How can they charge $50 more for a flower? You did a wonderful job and now they are perfect!
