If you have been following me the last few weeks you will have seen some of the things that I have been doing with an empty room in my house. If you have missed some of the previous posts, you can go here and here! Below is the before picture and remember I had some decorating challenges,
1. I was trying to use what I already had.
2. I had to leave the clouds in place, ( a request of my daughter.)
I wanted to make another guest room and was planning on putting a King size bed in this space.
So let the challenge begin!
It is a happy room!
I had this bedside table but decided in order to be in the room, it would have to be white.
Here is another stand that I had and of course it had to be white, so out came the white spray paint! I planned on using both of these for the bed side tables because I didn't have a lot of space and besides who made the rule that bedside tables have to match!
I made these lamps after spray painting them white.
So here is how it turned out! Yes, it is still a happy room, I left the clouds and really the only thing that I purchased was the comforter and pillow shams. Oh, and 3 cans of white spray paint!
I had these bottles that I decided to use as the window treatment, I didn't want to cover the window. After putting the bottles up I decided it needed just a bit more, so I had these Christmas balls that were glass and the salmon color was just the punch it needed! I really liked how this turned out and lying in the bed you almost feel like there is some hot air balloons a way off in the distance in the bright sunny sky!
I attached them with hooks and tiny white ribbon and nails.
My pillows were just what the comforter needed!
Looking up at the sky!
My white horse and numbered painted pots.
I decided I needed just a little something in the pots so added these small Styrofoam balls with white flowers pushed into the Styrofoam.
The bird cages were painted white as well and I brought this bench from the play room. All of the art that I used in the room was old windows, I think this room looks better with just a few more windows!
I added some moss balls that I stole from the kitchen to put into the bird cages.
and painted the wire heart baskets white!
Yes, I think I did it! I am ready for more guests!
It was well used the last 2 weekends when both of my daughters were here at the same time. It's kind of feminine but remember the cowboy room is right next door if you are getting a hankering for something more manly!
I love how it turned out and love having another king size bed to accommodate my well loved guests!
