Baby Shower

Yesterday we had a baby shower for my daughter (in law) I call her my daughter because she's like a daughter to me.  She wanted to have a healthy shower, so we came up with this idea.  I t was very colorful and yes, it was very healthy!

I made this center piece from broccoli and purple carnations, i just put it in a white bowl and voila! you have a center piece!

I used all the glass and white containers I could find.  I went to the produce aisle and filled up my cart and used some for the decorations as well as the eats.

I added used an artichoke and green onions in the bottom of a vase, boc choy (Sp?)  under a cloche, added cheese sticks, cucumber,  summer squash, carrot sticks, celery sticks, red pepper slices, baby tomatoes in a bed of kale, and radishes in a bed of sugar snap peas.

I added a carnation to the top of a pepper, just slit a hole in the top and push the stem of the carnation into the pepper. Oh, and the asparagus bundle in a jar I had in my pantry.

The pedestals were made from bowls, vases, and candlesticks and I just placed plates on the top of them.

I made a 10 minute table runner, I will have to give the tut on that later, but it was literally 10 minutes to make.

My other daughter brought the fruit and she layered it in a big glass bowl.  We served it in waffle cones and made a yummy yogurt dip  to spoon over the top. (we got this idea from pinterest!)

I made the lemon ice cubes in a muffin tin, ( I got this idea from pinterest as well.)

It was all yummy and you didn't feel bad if you ate a lot!

I should have taken a close up of the miniature forks that I found at Sam's club.  (they were so cute and you can use them like tooth picks, see them by the plates.)

Here is the mother to be and yes I finally got the rolls on the table to go with the butter,(those were probably the least healthy thing on the table, but you can't have a shower without rolls!) I got the recipe from the Lion house rolls on the Internet and even learned the Lion House roll flip! (just Google it and you can watch it on You Tube.)
It was a fun day and I was most excited about finishing all of my projects and basement after the flood!
More of that to come later, it looks fantastic, I can't wait to show you!
