My altered clothes

I told you I would show you some of the clothes that I altered, so here they are!
Both of these sweaters were altered and they fit great now.

I made a felted flower to accent the scarf.

This sweater was big and I just pinned and took in the sides and then made a flower to add to the sweater.

Another view of the sweater.
(Sorry about the cheesy grin)

This is a sweater that was smaller and I used a bib I made to accent it.(the tutorial is at the bottom.)
Don't you love that I cleaned up for the photo shoot? Sorry about the clutter on the cabinets.

This was a sweater that was altered smaller and I used the left over material to make these rolled flowers.

It fits!

I really like how these flowers turned out. I rolled the strips of sweater and used a needle and thread to sew them together and then sewed them onto the sweater.

This sweater was quite big and I had plenty of sweater fabric to make the flowers at the neckline.
(Don't you like my model pose!) LOL

Here is a close up view.

Another pose :)

Here is a close up of the bib, sorry that it is a little blurry.

I am calling these "Mommy Bibs", they are great to make some outfits look totally different and they are just for Mommy's! (grandma's too!)

Here is the same bib with a black shirt and a tan jacket.

Here is a cream bib with a jacket and I made the rolled flowers for the accents.
I like the versatility of it, you can use it with the same colored shirt or a different color if you like.

Another close up.

I cut out a bib.

I used an old shirt that, yep, it was too big and it was in the discard pile. I cut the strips, ran a gathering stitch along the one side of it.  I didn't have to hem it because I used the bottom of the shirt that was already hemmed.

I sewed on the gathers in layers.  I used a piece of fabric to trim the top and make the ties.
I made the rolled flowers and sewed them to the ruffles.

I did the same with the black bib. Instead of the rolled flowers, I added a strip down the center and added buttons, you can use the buttons that come off of the shirt because they should match great!
Now I have a bunch more clothes to wear and I just went shopping in my discard pile.  With a few pins and seams I have a new ward robe!!

All are so cute but I especially like the ruffled bibs! Being a Victorian Era admirer , I am so thrilled to see ruffles coming back in style and this is the perfect wardrobe accessory that can be added to anything to pretty it up!!
