Wow, it has been awhile since I posted something, I think I got through with Christmas and just relaxed. I have been doing some projects though, and most of them involve paint. I have been thinking about repainting the guest room for quite awhile but have just not got around to it. Before I started though I knew if I painted it the color I wanted that I would need to paint this little bedside cabinet as well. I wanted to go lighter with everything!
This is the after picture. The walls used to be quite dark, kind of a sage green but dark.
I have been playing around with my panorama shot on my camera and this is what I got. I love the camera on the new 5s. It takes cool pics, huh!
This is about the same, my daughter moved in December, put her home up for sale, I helped her stage her house and used my phone to take the pictures. I used the panoramic features several times. It must have worked because her home sold in 3 days!
I didn't change much else in the room other than the paint but did make some new pillows to go on the bed.
I did paint the clock because I wanted it to be a little lighter.
After I painted it, I distressed it with some sand paper and it worked perfectly.
This is what it looked like before.
I did the bathroom in the guest room as well. You know how hard it is to get pictures of a bathroom when there is a mirror and you don't want to get in the shot! I used the panorama shot on this as well and you can actually see most of the bathroom!
Once the painting started, I couldn't stop! I have had this antique rocking chair for almost 25 years, and it was old when I got it. I originally stripped it down to the bare wood. I was wanting it to go light as well so I painted it!
I took the cushion off and lined the fabric with some white sheet fabric and nailed it onto the under neath side of the cushion.
Taking the cushion off made it easy to paint.
I added a yellow chevron pillow and loved the way it turned out. Doesn't it just make you happy to look at it!
The painting did not stop! I had this old wood table, that was ready for some updating,(sorry, I forgot to take a before picture, in all of my excitement.)
I should have moved the sub woofer under the table before I took the picture, but you get the idea. This table has 2 layers of glass and I put a piece of fabric between the 2 pieces. It's going to be fun to change it up when I get bored with the fabric.
The last project involved, some seen better days, Christmas decorations. Sorry, I forgot the before pic, but just imagine some forest green and burgundy paint, some red berries with fake pine and raffia.
I went with the neutral paint used some mod podge and glitter on the outside letters.
For the embellishment I used a die cut foam snowflake, painted it the same color as the letters, and put a little bling in the center!
Now this will be all ready for next winter.
See, I haven't really relaxed, just haven't updated for awhile.
I can feel spring coming!
Yeah!
