Turtle shell prop

Here is another little photo prop I have made the pattern for.  I am loving the little beanie cap and once I figured out the pattern it was really fun to crochet. Don't worry I have included easy to follow instructions and you will want to make a bunch of them once you have finished one!

I then had to make a little turtle shell blanket to finish it off.

They way I did the pattern you can hook all of the little pentagons together at once and it makes it really fast.

The way it is crocheted it doesn't lay completely flat but I liked the look because it looks more like a turtle!

I then decided to try something more with the pattern because I loved this stitch and I made a cute slouch beanie, using the same pattern.
So when you get the pattern this pattern for the slouch hat is included.

This was made with a chunkier yarn and it is so cute on!

Hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I did! you can get it
If you want the turtle blanket with the hat you can get it
Thanks and have a great day!

Cute as a bumble bee!

I think that I am getting winter crazy because recently all I have wanted to is make Spring or summer items.  I did have a request to make some more photo props for little newborns and this is what I came up with.

Sorry that I don't have a real newborn for my model but for the moment this is what you will get.

I can't wait to try it on a cute new little one.

Doesn't this just make you think of Spring!

It was fun to make and getting the stripes just right without the little join lines of the yarn was a challenge and I figured it out and included it in the pattern.

The hat could really be made to any size and it would look adorable on any little head.

Loving my new camera as well, it has made taking photo 's so much easier!

Have a happy day and sweet thoughts of Spring!

Crochet conversation heart

Remember those little conversation hearts that you get every Valentines day?  Doesn't this hat just remind you of those?  All it needs is a little message of "Be mine", "love you", or"best friend".

I made the hat and then crocheted the heart, I liked the heart but when I showed it to Mr. Jones he said it reminded him of something else and started to laugh.  I was a little offended and I'm afraid if I tell you what it was you might not get the picture out of your mind.  I'm having a hard time thinking that was what it reminded him of...

I told him I would rework the heart and not make it so long and skinny but more fat and maybe not add so much stuffing to the inside.

I did like the ruffles and he didn't make any comment about those.

Do you want me to tell you?

If I do it just might ruin your vision of this cute hat.
( He thought  the heart looked like sheep testicles!)
Have a great day and I hope you weren't too traumatized!

Free crochet pattern

As many of you know I am a crocheter and have written several patterns and sale them in my Etsy shop.  I am feeling the love coming in the next month and decided that I needed to reward those faithful readers of my blog and facebook page.  So, I am giving away the pattern for this cute valentine heart garland.  You don't crochet you say, well this is a very easy pattern and with a little practice you could easily make this.

It looks cute about any where you place it and will help get you through the month of January.

Do you like the choice of music, just kind of cheers you up don't you think!
I used mine on my mantel, took down the Christmas ornaments, left up the snowmen, and added the heart garland.  It is so hard when you worked so hard to put up all of those Christmas decorations, to just take them down as soon as Christmas is over.  I decided to leave up the green garland and the re berries and just add some winter snowmen and the little heart garland.

I added some above my window.

and some to the pictures.  I kind of like them on this music score picture. (you probably noticed from the first pictures I had on the music book.)

So here is what you need to do to get your free pattern.  Just like my Easy Peasy Grandma page on Facebook, visit my Etsy shop and look at my patterns, (I'm not making you buy any, you can just look!)  You can find my Etsy shop at the top of the page, just click on it, and it will take you there.
And if you want to, you can follow my Easy Peasy Grandma blog.
Send me an email telling me that you have done all of those things and I will send you the pattern!

Thanks for the love and here is some back!

Super Hero Christmas Eve

You may wonder why I decided to have a Super Hero Christmas Eve party.  You may remember that I have 11 grandsons(whoa, you say, what?) and anything super hero is great!  So this year's Christmas eve was themed around Super heroes! I started off by making this banner, I made it out of colored foam and found all of the super hero images on Google.  I printed them off and found it was easier to just sew them on with my sewing machine.

You could use glue but it seemed to stay down better with sewing.

Tried to think of all of these boys, super heroes.

I knew that this one is a favorite.

To tie this theme into the spirit of Christmas eve I wanted them to know that the biggest super hero in my life is this Man, we are celebrating His birth on this special night.

Of course, there is never a better hero!

As far as I am concerned he is one SUPER MAN.

Do you want to come to my Super Hero party?

I then thought about all of the super hero masks that we have and found some embroidery patterns that I was able to make in the hoop.

I did have to have one princess hero, because there would be one princess hero at our party.

Spider Man.

This is the one Trevor chose.

Off again,

on again.

This little boy did not want grandma to see him with his mask on.

Of course all of the food for the night had to be themed as well.  Everyone was given an assignment, this was our Super Man dip, Super Man DIP, (do you get it?)

More of my Super Heroes.

Really the picture did not hurt!

We had Iron Man Ham, Incredible Hulk salad, Thing stuffing, Spiderman potatoes, Thor Rolls, Relish like Batman,  Super Man Dip and Captain America dessert.

It was a Super Hero dinner!

Then we made some Super Hero's for all to take home. ( We made a nativity set for each family.)
We had a super hero piñata, and of course ended the night with all of my super hero's  re-enacting the nativity.

Our Super hero princess did not want to take off her mask to be Mary. It was a great night to celebrate Super Heroes and we were all rewarded celebrating our biggest Super Hero and to Him, I am eternally grateful.
Merry Christmas!
