I love how these turned out!

I had some leather scraps that I had from some earlier projects and had an idea to make some head bands and flower pins. I really like the way they turned out! I think the leather is a great medium to work with and the finished product looks quite classy. I am definitely going to have to make more of these, they were fun
 to make.
Of course these are for sale!
Th headbands are $12.00

and the pins are $15.00
Have a happy Friday!

Do you feel like a cupcake?

Then cut a small circle of red felt and sew a running stitch around the edge of the felt. I put a small Styrofoam ball in the middle to help it hold it's circle shape. Then pull the thread tight and sew back and forth on the bottom to hold it tight. Knot it at the end and then use hot glue to put the cherry on the top! Then embellish it with whatever you like. I had some little felt flowers, rick rack, ribbon, and of course you need the sprinkles for the top of the cup cake. If you have straight pins that have a colored ball on the top it makes a great pincushion! You can also cut a piece of magnet in the shape of a circle and glue it on the bottom of the cup cake to pick up all of the dropped pins that you have.On this one I used just a strip of felt to make the ribbon. Then I had another idea on how to display these cute cupcakes.I had made a trip to the DI to find some things I needed for my projects and I saw these plates and bowls and thought what cute cake stands they would make. I turned the bowls over and used some 9001 glue to glue the inverted bowls to the bottoms of the plates. This glue is super strong and is waterproof so you can use it on the cake plates so you can wash them later. (I don't think I would wash them in the dish washer though.) I thought they turned out pretty cute for putting any kind of sweet treats and for $2.00 for the larger one and $1.50 for the smaller one you can't beat the price! These cupcakes were very easy to make or I should say easy peasy to make and once you start making them you will just want to make more!
Have Fun making these sweet treats!

I am linking to Cupcake Tuesday!

You can have the kids color the eggs and cut them out and then put them in the basket when they hear the words in General Conference. Have a great Conference weekend!!

Easter S'mores in a jar

I saw this done a couple of years ago and it was so cute and then I found the recipe and the picture so I wanted to share. It is an easy idea to give as a gift as well.
Easter S'mores in a Jar

  • 1. Reduce 1 sleeve graham crackers to crumbs.

  • 2. Layer 2/3 crumbs in a 1 qt. jar

  • 3. Place 8 marshmallow bunny peeps (varied colors) standing up.

  • 4. Press them up against the glass, but don't squash them.

  • 5.Carefully spoon remaining crumbs in the center of the jar to support the bunnies, pressing down to keep snug.

  • 6. On top of this, pour 1 1/4c. Easter M&Ms, gently pressing with a spoon.

  • 8. Decorater the lid of the jar however you please and tie ribbons around the neck of the jar.

  • Attach a gift tag to say:

  • Easter Bunny Smore's instructions

  • 1. Empty the jar contents into a bowl. Snip the bunnies into bits with kitchen sheers or cut up with a knife. Return bunny bits to the mixture. Mix well.

  • 2. Melt 1/2 c. butter, add 1 tsp. vanilla. Pour this over the dry ingredients, mixing well. Pat into a greased 9" square pan.

  • 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.

  • Makes 9-12 bars.

  • Happy Easter!

Calling all paper scraps...

I saw an idea like this on studio 5 but it was done with large pieces of paper so I had an idea to make flowers instead and give them to the great ladies I visit teach. I started out with 2 inch strips of paper and cut them 12 inches long. You will need 2 strips for each flower. I then used a paper punch to punch out the flowers and the circles. I think this project is easy enough that you could get kids to help you fold the strips.I used a glue stick to the 2 strips together and then used the glue gun to to glue the circles onto the fan flowers. Be careful to not let the fans invert or you will get a hot glue burn like I did. Hold them in place for a  minute and then glue the wooden shishkabob scewer on the back. Add a little ribbon and a hershey kiss for the center and you have a cute bouquet! I filled the empty chili sauce jars with easter candy,(I knew I saved those cute little jars for something.) and then made a tag and tied some green rafia ribbon around the base. The chocolate pops are just a carmel put on a lollipop stick and dipped in dark chocolate and then I drizzled white chocolate on the top. They are easy peasy and very yummy!

You can make cute ceiling and window hangings with these just make them in a larger size and hang them with fishing line from the window or the ceiling. Have fun using up all of your paper scraps!

I'm thinking Spring!

I decided to make a fabric Spring hat because it is just feeling like it should be SPRING!I lined the hat with a coordinating striped fabric and made the flower out of both fabrics. the price for this one is $12.00 I then decided to make some springy shoes did you know that this color of blue turqoise is the color for this year! I then thought I better make some boy ones to match.  These are also $12.00I did some experimenting with the felt flowers for head bands. They are on a clip so you can interchange them on any color of headband, hat ,bag or anything you would want to clip it on.The cost for these are $3.50 for the flower clip and $.50 for the band.I have a hard time coming up with as cute of ideas for boys but I thought this cap turned out okay. I probably would make the visor a little narrower but it would be great to keep the sun off of a cute little baby face. cost for this one is $10.00
So I hope this gets you inspired for SPRING! I can't wait until all of our snow is gone. Yes, we still have snow!!
